  3. Be sure that the designer and the optimizer (sounds like a robot), get a chance to communicate with one another, and understand what each of them intend to do with the site. You want a well-oiled machine. And, you should of course always be part of any decision - it is your web site after all.
  4. Ultimately, it’s what you what you want when it comes to your site. Be sure however not to be so thick-headed that you don’t listen to your designer or your SEO person. They do what they do because they do it well, and you hired them for it. If the designer tells you something looks really ugly, then think about it. If your SEO person tells you something is going to be flagged or is a bad idea, take it into consideration. You have the final say, but you have to remember you’re working with professionals for a reason.

It’s a good idea to utilize all of your resources. If you have these tools at your fingertips, it’s silly not to use them. It’s like trying to cross a river. You choose to ignore the sturdy and safe bridge, and try to wade through the water and swim. Sure, you may get across and reach your goal eventually, but you’re going to struggle like nobody’s business and risk drowning in the meantime. It may cost more for that bridge, but it will get you there quicker and safer, and in the end you’re going to be much happier with the results.
