Future SEO Criteria - Site Speed
Recently, the video team of WebProNews (a sister site to MySEOBlog) caught up with Matt Cutts from Google and discussed the pending feature of Caffeine, which was a test search engine that returned search results at a faster speed with better organization that rapidly updated data from various social networking websites.
During the video interview with Cutts, he also discussed the idea of the speed of a site playing a factor in ranking sites in Google’s index in 2010. Site speed is already an important factor when searching for websites in today’s “fast-paced” society, so this will make searching and finding faster sites in an easier way.

With this premise, many webmasters may have to increase their resources, such as finances and server types and space to get their sites faster and better within SERP (Search Engine Ranking Pages) if and/or when this idea is implemented into Google’s SEO criteria.
There still are various websites around the internet today that have slow page loading times. This criteria’s implementation will definitely awaken the web administration community to make sure their sites are up to date and speedy so that the next time Google crawls their site, it is most efficient for their SERP position and visibility to increment.
